Looking for inspiration? Here’s how some of Britain’s top contemporary interior designers and home stylists are using Pooky’s table lamps….
Of course, we think our lamps look great anywhere – but nothing beats seeing them out of the showroom and sitting proudly in a real, gorgeous room. We love it when our customers send in photos of how they’ve used a Pooky light or lampshade – or an interesting combination of both – in their home. In the meantime, in case you’re looking for a little bit of inspiration, we thought we’d show you some of the ways that top interior designers and home stylists have been using Pooky things in their rooms, starting with some table lamps…
2 Lovely Gays – The Benchley in Greenwich

Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead – aka 2 Lovely Gays – shot to prominence after Jordan made the final of the BBC’s Great Interior Design Challenge, and have quickly established themselves as one of the country’s finest interior design companies. They even gave us some lighting tips here. We love the way they’ve used our Benchley ceramic table lamp for this ‘West Coast Scandi’ look, commissioned for a townhouse in Greenwich.

Their task was to unite the living areas for something beautiful but practical for a family of four. They ‘used a mix of tribal patterns and lots of natural texture to add interest but accented with black to really smarten up the scheme and keep it from looking too naïve.’

We think they’ve triumphed – and we’re delighted to see the black and white pattern of the Benchley used as an integral part of the scheme. Jordan says: 'The oversized pendants above the table and lamps in the dining room add a real "west coast" beachy feel without looking themed.'
Emily Murray – Elsa in the pink

A little while back, lifestyle journalist and founder of the fantastic Pink House interiors website Emily Murray gave us a glimpse of her amazing home (well worth a look!). Her style is all about being ‘fun and fabulous with a shot of pink’ – which doesn’t mean pink everywhere, but, she says, ‘the right pink in the right place can make me smile like no other colour.’. A great example is sitting pretty in her master bedroom: a pair of Elsa table lamps in Magenta, matched with our yellow silk Ikat shades. Emma told us that she loves ‘the rich, pinky-purple colour of the glass against the exotically bright yellow pattern, and the effect of the lamps against my shimmery purple Timorous Beasties butterflies wallpaper is nothing short of magical.’ We completely agree! For those of you who like a little dash of strong accent colour, a striking table lamp is a great way to get it into a room.

Stephanie Hughes – Wisteria in ‘Pandora’

And now for something completely different….Stephanie Hughes is the creative genius behind interior design company Stefa. This year she was a finalist at the Grand Designs show at London’s ExCel, exhibiting her room set for ‘Famous Places That Never Existed’. For her lounge, Stephanie came up with ‘Pandora’, described as ‘a mysterious and exotic moon in the Alpha Centauri star system’. The design focuses on ‘the exotic richness of vibrant colours in Pandora, creating an electric and dynamic atmosphere.’

Stephanie’s very big on lighting, so we were delighted that when she spotted our Wisteria glass table lamp online, she thought it would be perfect for the ‘paradise vibes’ in her Pandora room set. She told us that when she saw it she ‘practically shouted “that’s the one” and quickly made contact to secure it. I adored the elegant glass design that effortlessly shows off the olive green braided silk flex flowing through the middle. I simply love touches like that!’ So there you have it – if you want your room to look like it’s been teleported from another planet, try the Wisteria!
