Carving a Descartes light is no mean feat. Please do not think this is created by a machine. No, this is entirely hand carved from a block of raw hewn alabaster. It requires immense skill and dexterity. It is no wonder it's a little more costly than others but the result is fabulous and the glow from the alabaster is endlessly soothing.
