We’ve introduced lots of very lovely new table lamps. Here’s our pick of the five of the most gloriously Pookyish ones…
You may have noticed that we’ve been busy making lots of new things recently, including a host of spanking new designer table lamps. Some are brassy, some glassy – all are exceedingly classy. You can browse them all here. But if you’re the sort of person who likes your table lamps bold and quirky, here are five particularly Pookyish ones we think you’ll love…
1) Zsa Zsa
Zsa Zsa Gabor would have had her 100th birthday this year (she made it to 99, plus nine husbands. Not a bad effort). So we felt it only right to name this beautiful, stylish and unusually attractive light in her memory.
Zsa Zsa in her pomp It stands a proud 48cm high, with a brass column atop a clear blown glass bowl atop a brass base. Extremely stylish with a black shade, but have a play as other shade combinations are splendid too (try a red).
2) George
This distinctive piece of modernist sculpture looks a bit like a bronze by Barbara Hepworth. In fact it’s a cast aluminium by Pooky (just as nice-looking as bronze but a fifth of the cost) . So if you want something unusual, distinguished yet surprisingly affordable, George is your man. He’s 42cm tall and went down a storm at the Decorex show in September.

3) Mistra
A tall, very cool, very stylish table lamp in the classic Art Deco style, Mistra is a combination of brass and sculpted acrylic. We’re very proud of this one. Paired in this pic with a taped Jersey handmade parchment lampshade, it’s the Audrey Hepburn of lights, all edges and angles and smart modern curves.

4) Tryffid
Made from cast aluminium and finished in antique gold, Tryffid is a quirky, stylish light that stands an impressive 54cm tall. Its three peg legs have a faintly organic feel, perhaps, so it looks at home among plant life on your dresser or side table. Try Tryffid with one of our tall tapered velvet shades – we think they go together perfectly.

5) Nancy
Yes, Nancy is a big gold boot with serious attitude and if you place her in your room she will not be ignored!
