In Rajasthan we found a group of these impressively skilled craftworkers who make beautiful mosaic and decorative patterns with pieces of dyed camel bone. They apply it onto all sorts of furniture but we asked them to use it to decorate a range of really exceptional mirrors. The bone is dyed to a soft gray and once the piece is complete it is set with a clear lacquer to give it a totally smooth and protected finish.
