14cm tall tapered shade in brick dust wallflower printed cotton by morris & co. see dimensions
Designed in 1890 by the brilliant William Morris, the 'Wallflower' pattern is a stunning example of his intricate artistry. With gracefully scrolling acanthus leaves framing delicately rendered wallflowers, the design is full of energy and life. Inspired by the wallpaper that adorned the drawing room of Sir Emery Walker, Morris’s close friend and collaborator, this iconic pattern now graces beautiful lampshades. Walker, a master engraver and printmaker, lived just a stone's throw from Morris in Hammersmith, both with views over the Thames. The 'Wallflower' pattern retains its sculptural quality, a true reflection of the creative bond between these two remarkable figures.
