About Women Supporting Women at The Princes Trust.

Sadly, young women in the UK are disproportionately disadvantaged compared to their male peers. Add this to a pandemic, and for the young women who reach out to The Prince’s Trust, life is harder than ever before.
The young women we support often face enormous personal challenges too, including;
  • Domestic and sexual violence
  • Long-term unemployment
  • Bullying
  • Single parenthood
  • Lack of emotional support at home
  • Previous offending behaviour
  • Mental health challenges
  • Homelessness
1.5 million young women have lost income since the pandemic began. Plus women are also more likely to be in the categories disproportionately affected by the pandemic, including low earners, temporary employees, workers on zero-hour contracts, and part-time self-employment
The Prince’s Trust’s Women Supporting Women initiative has been created to help address the challenges young women face. It provides the vital support and funding needed to help nurture, empower and inspire young women to build their own futures.  They provide support to help rebuild lost confidence, mentorship and inspiration for what is possible - and most importantly help women to move forward into employment, further education or to become self-employed
Their aim is to raise £10 million over the next few years, supporting many, many more young women on Prince's Trust programmes to change their lives for the better.
