Rohan Blacker, Pooky’s founder comments:

“We are thrilled to be working with Rosa UK to celebrate and support women in every walk of life. We are very lucky to have a great team of fantastic women working at Pooky and this is a good way for us to recognise that. So we will be donating some proceeds from the sale of our many female named lights. For example, our Luty, which is named after my great Aunt Lucilla who drove a lorry around Gloucestershire during the war; the Cagney and the Lacey after two female crime-busting legends in the 80s who inspired a generation of girls. Then there’s the Diana, an A-list member of the Roman god crew, whose dominion over the male-dominated task of hunting was quite an achievement. A fitting tribute for this strong, bold, golden lamp."

Tiggy

The Lottie has been a firm favourite with customers since she came on the scene - at around the same time that Princess Charlotte bounced onto the royal scene! Coincidence? Or just our lame attempt at a Royal Warrant? The Tiggy is a striking piece of wall art with a mirror at its centre. Perhaps the name was inspired by the little hedgehogs that snuffle away in the woods just above our West Country warehouse. Diana - a proper A-lister member of the Roman god crew, her dominion over what was back then considered the male-dominated task of hunting was quite an achievement. A fitting tribute for this strong, bold, golden lamp. The Cagney and the Lacey wall lights: Two crime-busting legends from the 80s who inspired a generation of girls. And like our two wall lights, we can never tell which is which! Luty – Rohan’s Great Aunt Lucilla who drove a lorry around Gloucestershire for the war effort
